The Real Truth About Pitch To Publisher Events And Your Songwriting Career.

Every week I see determined hardworking songwriters flocking to pitch to publisher events to play their songs for publishers. I see whole businesses existing on this model of setting up pitch to publisher events. I’ve seen it for 25 years! While there might be some networking potential to find co-writers, etc, I have not heard of songs being picked up at one of these events by a publisher and becoming a big hit… or being recoded by a major artist. Still the events are continuing year after year, week after week.

So how do writers get noticed in the business?

By writing incredible songs. Writing songs better than the artists can write themselves. By writing songs better or different than the staff writers at the publishing companies can write. Ask ANY successful writer and this is their answer.
